Kodelite develops secure eBook DRM service based on industry standard Adobe Content Server
Identifying an opportunity, Kodelite began development on an eBook DRM solution that was adaptable enough to meet the needs of small self-publishers but also scaled up to the demands of large publishing houses. Adobe Content Server proved to be the right technology for the task, now they just needed the right reseller. “We first heard of Datalogics through Adobe when the company was designated as a reseller for Adobe Content Server,” said Turgay Birand, Managing Partner at Kodelite. “We chose Datalogics because they provided comprehensive, friendly and quick support from the get-go, and we’ve been very happy to have them as our main supporter especially during the development and deployment periods of the project.”
In March 2012, after three months of development Kodelite launched its online service called EditionGuard, a secure and robust eBook DRM service providing publishers of all sizes with a cost-effective and easy to use DRM system without the usually large capital and time investments required. From small self-publishers distributing dozens of books to large publishing enterprises carrying thousands of books online, Kodelite’s EditionGuard solves the problems of secure digital delivery, content integrity and costly web integrations.
In the first six months of its launch, EditionGuard has seen its customer base increase 150%, attracting attention worldwide with customers from the Americas, Europe and Asia. The eBooks protected via Kodelite’s service have grown considerably as well with many languages now available including English, Turkish, German, Spanish, Chinese and Hebrew. “We anticipate a great deal of growth in the adoption of our system in the coming months,” continued Birand, “and it’s good to know you always have a team of experts at Datalogics you can consult when times get difficult and you’re feeling stuck.”
