Unix Administrator

Datalogics is a leading provider of PDF programming toolkits, document composition software, and a suite of Adobe eBook solutions. We are seeking to hire a Unix Administrator to join our team and play a key role in installation, maintenance and support of hardware, software, network and security for our multi-platform software engineering environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide IT and technical support to employees
• Manage various Unix platform servers
• Support network architecture, storage optimization, NAS and user administration and updates
• Communicate with other departments to investigate and install new systems and technologies
• Manage backup schedules and testing
• Evaluate hardware and software
• Develop and maintain department documentation and action plans including: policies and procedures, user guides, and best practices

Qualifications:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Experience with various Unix platforms (Linux, Solaris, AIX or HP-UX) required
• Must have a high skill level with most Unix commands and utilities
• Experience configuring NFS and NIS
• Experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server 2003/8, Windows 7) required. A Windows 7 configuration (70-680) or Server 2008 certification is required upon employment or to be received within 60 days of beginning employment
• Experience in managing networks, Cisco routers, firewall, internet
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask
• Collaborative, team-focused and able to work well with others
• Desire and ability to work successfully in a small company environment
