Adobe PDF Library SDK transparency flattening and XPS to PDF conversion available in .NET and Java interfaces from Datalogics

Chicago, IL, September 14, 2009 — Datalogics, Incorporated, the premier source for Adobe PDF developer technologies, announced the availability of transparency flattening and XPS to PDF conversion in the Adobe PDF Library SDK. These features are accessible from the .NET, Java and C/C++ interfaces to the PDF Library.

The transparency flattening capability in the Adobe PDF Library is the same core functionality upon which Adobe Acrobat's transparency flattening and preview capabilities are built. Use of transparency for effects such as drop shadow, blends and opacity masks has become a mainstay in the graphics arts and design industry; and having Acrobat's flattening capabilities in a standalone API enables print production software developers to build applications which flatten transparencies just like Acrobat Pro.

Similarly, the XPS to PDF functionality of the Adobe PDF Library is the same core functionality that drives Acrobat's XPS import capability (accessible via Acrobat's File > Create PDF > From File… menu). Both features are available in the Adobe PDF Library SDK from Datalogics, and can be called from the C/C++, Java and .NET interfaces to the Library. For more information, visit www.datalogics.com.

About the Adobe PDF Library

The Adobe PDF Library is a developer toolkit which allows third-party developers to support the PDF format within their own applications. Developers can build powerful Adobe PDF solutions in desktop environments as well as a wide range of server platforms, using the same core technology with which Adobe Systems, Inc. builds its Acrobat family of products. The toolkit provides access to a broad range of functionality and full compatibility with the latest PDF specification, enabling high-performance, scalable optimized PDF processing. Included as part of the Library distribution are the Datalogics Enhancements (DLE), a set of modules that include performance improvements and optimizations, and language interfaces for .NET and Java developers.

The Adobe PDF Library is available on a wide variety of platforms, including Windows (32- and 64-bit), MacOS, Linux, AIX, HPUX (PA-RISC and Itanium), Solaris Sparc, and Solaris x86 OS.
