Datalogics partners with Appligent Document Solutions, announces Appligent PDF Forms API

Chicago, IL, August 2, 2010 — Chicago-based Datalogics, Incorporated, the premier source for Adobe PDF developer technologies, and Lansdowne, PA-based Appligent Document Solutions today announced the release of the Appligent PDF Forms API through a technology partnership between the two companies. The Appligent PDF Forms API provides PDF form filling and flattening capabilities in a developer toolkit. It is a C API available on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Solaris, HPUX, and AIX platforms; and is available directly from Datalogics.

The Appligent PDF Forms API is based on Appligent Document Solutions' pioneering and still industry-leading FDFMerge. Now powered by the Adobe PDF Library, FDFMerge fills PDF forms with forms data, fully flattening them for archival purposes, or partially flattening them for multi-stage workflows. All of the functionality of FDFMerge is available through this API, including:

• Programmatically filling form fields with text and images from data source(s) using ISO 32000 FDF and XFDF files
• Flattening all form fields within a form, or selectively flattening a subset
• Formatting and modifying form fields
• Precise typographic control of character spacing, word spacing and line leading in form fields
• Support for both RGB and CMYK colorspaces
