Chicago, IL, June 7, 2012 — At Book Expo America in New York City today, Chicago-based Datalogics, Inc. announced the release of DL Reader 1.8, with support for right-to-left reading order and mixed-direction text layout support. It is based upon the Adobe Reader Mobile SDK, the industry standard toolkit for rendering EPUB and PDFs with full support for Adobe’s DRM. eBooks protected with Adobe DRM can be read using DL Reader, and with this new release, eBooks in Hebrew and Arabic languages are now supported.
DL Reader is a fully-functioning eReader for Android, iOS and Windows desktop. It is provided in source code form as a reference implementation and is part of the Datalogics distribution of the Adobe Reader Mobile SDK (RMSDK). Datalogics RMSDK licensees can use the DL Reader source as the basis of their customized eReader apps, and with this update can support right-to-left and mixed-direction text layout content.
Datalogics is the premier channel for Adobe technology SDKs for the publishing industry, supporting over 600 customers in 50 countries since 1995. Customers have released over 1000 products built using the technologies we provide.
