Automatic Page Numbering
DL Pager can maintain and increment a host of page counters and section counters, and can typeset these numbers as arabic or roman numerals, or with letters and pages. For example, this page is the eighth of section "F". Pager also supports automatic numbering of paragraphs in a variety of styles.
Loose Leaf Publication
Large documents, such as law books, undergo changes on a regular basis. Being difficult and costly to keep current, these documents are often published in loose-leaf binders. When pages must be inserted between two existing pages, DL Pager can create hyphenated pages (also called point pages.) For example, if a change to page 308 exceeds the space available, the inserted pages might be 308-1 and 308-2 so that page 309 need not be re-issued.
DL Pager is an excellent tool for composing loose-leaf style publications. With DL Pager, modifications are tracked and only the effected pages of documents can be republished. DL Pager can also produce a list of effected pages along with instructions on where to insert them.
Running Heads
DL Pager automatically produces continued running heads, as well as running heads based on page contents. For example, dictionaries have running heads where the first and last entries of a page make up a portion of the head. DL Pager produces this as well as a wide variety of other running head types, including running column heads and conditional running heads which are only typeset if the content has overflowed from a previous page.
Advanced Tables and Financial Table Building Functionality
DL Pager's table building functionality is unsurpassed. From simple tables with a few columns and rows to complex multi-page financial tables, DL Pager excels.
DL Pager can build tables that span cells both horizontally and vertically. The table building functionality allows users to create tables in almost any format. Table appearance can be unique for each table, or can be made to be consistent for all tables produced for a customer or in a document.
DL Pager is capable of advanced table formatting functions such as decimal alignment, stacked table heads, hanging leading and trailing characters, as well as proportional (as opposed to absolute) column widths.
Cross References
DL Pager creates multi-volume publications, and is able to keep track of cross-references that span pages, chapters, and volumes.
If a referenced item moves to a different page, DL Pager tracks the location change and adjusts the cross reference. DL Pager easily controls such instances where a similar change in other software would cause disarray and waste valuable time.
Charts and Graphs
DL Pager dynamically builds charts based on data such as Pie Graphs, Exploded Pie Graphs, Bar Graphs, Column Graphs, Stacked Column Graphs, and Line Charts.
Footnotes
Examples of DL Pager's extensive footnoting capabilities include automatic separator generation, footnotes that can span from one page to the next, and footnotes that are greater than the size of a page.
Other Advanced Document Formatting Capabilities
- Space reservations functionality locates areas in a document where an illustration, figure, or table can fit and places it there. DL Pager also supports fixed reservations which force text to flow around a graphic or text element.
- Automatic ligature substitution allows users to automatically replace character combinations with the appropriate ligature substitute.
