Large enterprises need to trust the technology upon which they run their businesses. Adobe is the undisputed market- and thought-leader in the world of PDF. They are an established company with a distinguished history, and they'll be around for a while.
Many of our large enterprise customers have deployed multiplatform solutions (e.g., Windows Server and Solaris, or AIX and Linux). Since the Adobe PDF Library SDK is available on over thirteen platforms, it's an excellent choice for these types of deployments. The same technology — from the same codebase — can be used across platforms. Upgrades and new releases are similarly available across platforms.
Many large enterprises are running a heterogeneous stack on the back end: newer enterprise apps written in Java, client front-ends written in .NET; older legacy apps in C++ or straight C. Our language interfaces enable the PDF Library SDK to be used in all these environments, quickly and easily.
Our large enterprise customers need competent, available technical support. They aren't risking their business on unsupported/unproven technologies from unknown vendors. When they have a question or encounter a problem, they pick up the phone and call Dave, their Datalogics Technical Support Engineer, or send him a quick email. They also have access to an online Customer Portal, where they can review technical solutions, log cases, and view the status of their cases in real time.
Many of our PDF Library-enabled solutions are developed by consulting organizations on behalf of larger enterprises. These consulting companies are in the business of building reliable, effective solutions quickly and easily; and many of these companies have elected to use the Adobe PDF Library SDK as their preferred PDF tool of choice for all their implementations. They understand that using technology from Adobe helps them sell their services and builds better solutions. They also recognize that, with the breadth of functionality available in the Library, developing a competency in using the Library can be leveraged in other engagements as well.
