Last month we wrapped up yet another successful DeveloperWeek conference, this time in Austin, TX. As a native Texan myself, I was excited to return to my home state and chat with the developer community in Austin, which is now a booming tech hub. Myself and our Engineering Manager, Nitesh Rastogi, attended the conference on behalf of Datalogics and we exhibited in booth #107.
With this being the first conference for the both of us as Datalogics representatives, Nitesh and I were very excited to attend the event and learn as much as possible – and learn we did! The conversations we had with the attendees and other exhibitors were invigorating, inspiring, and informative. It was a great opportunity to get a glimpse into what developers are focused on right now, what their potential use cases were for our products, and where the future of technology was headed.
We were able to showcase our comprehensive range of PDF products, including our SDKs/APIs and our Command Line Applications- all of which offer unique solutions that piqued the interest of many attendees. In turn, we used the feedback we received to help inform improvements to our current product offerings, and we got ideas for new products that we could potentially bring to market in the future. Overall, the experience was very enlightening and we hope to be able to exhibit at DeveloperWeek Austin again next year!
A few of the trending PDF topics from conversations during this event included:
- Redaction – This was a hot topic, specifically the redaction of classified information from government documents
- Data Extraction – Many attendees were looking for a tool to extract data from PDFs, specifically data from tables
- Batch Processing – This was a need for attendees who work with a large number of PDF files and need to edit, print, or process them all at once
- Optimization – The ability to optimize PDFs to fix errors and reduce file sizes was of high interest to many attendees we spoke to
