Earlier this month, we hosted our first PDF Connect event at our office in downtown Chicago. This hands-on workshop brought our customers and other contacts together with the Datalogics Engineering, Support, and Product Management teams to answer their PDF-related questions.
PDF Connect attendees were encouraged to bring both topics and problem files that they wanted to discuss with Datalogics and other participants. During the two-day event, attendees had the opportunity to sit down individually with the Datalogics team to get answers to specific issues they were facing, as well as discuss best practices with the PDF Connect group. Our Product Management team gave presentations about recent Datalogics product development, document security, as well as PDF 2.0.
Throughout the event, a variety of topics were discussed. Some of the more popular topics included Section 508 compliance, creating PDF/UA (PDF for universal accessibility) files, PDF 2.0, as well as a deep-dive into fonts. We wrapped up the event with an in-depth discussion and demo on several new tools that Datalogics has been working on – PDF CHECKER and PDF OPTIMIZER. PDF CHECKER is our new free tool that helps users detect problems with PDFs, and PDF OPTIMIZER helps optimize files for compatibility, file size, and long-term preservation.
“The one-on-one format of PDF Connect was a great opportunity to interact directly with Datalogics software engineers and product management. My PDF questions about spot colors and specific document configurations were thoroughly addressed and answered. The event was time well spent, and I would wholeheartedly recommend attending PDF Connect in the future,” says Arbi Alexandri from GotPrint, a long-time Datalogics customer.
We received overwhelming positive feedback for this year’s event, and appreciate everyone who helped make PDF Connect a success. The hands-on format resonated well with attendees, allowing them direct access to the Datalogics PDF experts. We had a great time interacting with all participants, and look forward to seeing you at the next PDF Connect in 2019!
