QA Engineer

As a member of our small quality assurance team, you’ll be able to participate in the software testing life cycle for different product types. This includes testing SDK’s, RESTful API’s, Command line tools, and web demos. Testing our software products requires working with Windows, Unix, Mac, AWS services and web sites. The candidate selected will be able to apply his expertise to one or more product types and environments while working independently or with the others. Even though testing is your primary function, the team tries to allow 20% of your time for improving process and developing new tests. The ideal candidate will have experience running and configuring automated tests for RESTful API’s and web sites. Experience testing in or working with Amazon Web Services (EC2’s, AMI’s, load balancing) is a plus.

Job Description

The QA Engineer will assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs both in software and documentation. You should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You’ll be expected to interact with Product Management, Engineering and Support departments as well as your QA teammates. You will become competent in using our products and executing test cases and should be passionate about quality and testing automation. Ultimately, you will ensure all the product testing objectives are met and the product works as expected before releasing to customers. This position keeps full-time hours but may experience periods of overtime closer to product rollouts. Candidates who enjoy testing software and working in dynamic and varied environments are a great fit for this role.


  • Develop and maintain processes which promote product quality including automation and scripting
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Assist with creation of test plans and test cases
  • Prepare and maintain QA documentation wiki pages
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product documentation
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to QA and Development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Test products in areas of functionality, performance, stability, and compatibility with legacy and/or external systems
  • Execute all levels of testing (Unit, System, Integration, Acceptance and Regression)
  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Other duties as required


  • Comfortable with Python programing and experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, SQL, Objective C and/or Swift)
  • Experience with writing test cases, for both manual and automated testing
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience testing web services and working in AWS is a plus

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks is a plus
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year based on experience level.
