Forms Flattener 3.0 Release
Update includes New Import, Export, and Conversion Capabilities
PDF Forms Flattener is a command-line utility offered by Datalogics. This simple standalone utility works with Windows 64 platforms and allows you to flatten documents containing PDF Forms – both AcroForm and XFA. When you run PDF Forms Flattener, the program flattens the input PDF and saves it as a new output document. PDF Forms Flattener is a fast and simple way to convert a PDF form document into a standard PDF file, making it easy to distribute.
We recently launched Forms Flattener 3.0, with new importing, exporting, and converting features. Here’s an overview of these features:
New Export Features:
Forms Flattener can export data from XFA and AcroForms documents.
Forms Flattener 3.0 allows users to export data from XFA documents to the following formats:
- XML
- XFD
- XDP
Ability to export data from AcroForms documents to the following formats:
- XML
- XFDF
- FDF
New Import Features:
Forms Flattener can import data into a blank PDF form document (or set of form documents), save the document as a completed form, and then flatten it.
It is now possible to import data (same supported formats as export) into AcroForms or XFA without flattening the output document. This can be done using the ‘-f skip’ parameter-value combination.
New conversion Features:
- Forms Flattener 3.0 adds the ability to convert XFA documents to AcroForms documents using the ‘-c’ parameter.
- It also adds the ability to generate annotation appearances without flattening using the ‘-f skip’ parameter-value combination.
